The issue is caused because Filezilla is trying first a connection to the server using the hostname of the server and then, a second connection using the IP. In order to bypass it you need the following: 1. ping the hostname of the FTP server to obtain the correct IP of the Server 2. FileZilla Description. FileZilla Client is a free open source cross-platform FTP, FTPS and SFTP client with lots of useful features and an intuitive graphical user interface. Thes Passive FTP through WatchGuard FireBox Solutions | Experts I put through ports 20-21 and passive ports 5000-5025. i also set filezilla to use the static external ip for passive. The linksys worked fine, but the WatchGuard box does not like this. I am not using a FTP proxy. I am using a custom tcp filter for 20-21 & 5000-5025 from any external to a static NAT.
